The Shire is currently out of stock while awaiting the bits to arrive from Italy.  We apologize for the inconvenience!

The entire Cobbit Series sells out quickly.  We do our best to keep track of the inventory in order to not have to ship backorders but sometimes we just can't keep up. If that happens, we will let you know and do our best to get them to you ASAP.
Thanks ... and enjoy!

Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe
THE SHIRE (From The Cobbit Collection)
The Cobbit Collection Includes The Dwarf, The Shire, The Elf, and The Wizard!

We are thrilled to finally offer the new "Cobbit" churchwarden (AKA: Cobwarden) corn cob pipes from Missouri Meerschaum here at Allow me to introduce them to you: NOTE: Missouri Meerschaum has experienced supplier issues with the Cobbit bits (stems) and as a result, the bits may vary slightly from those shown in the photo.

THE SHIRE Corn Cob Pipe is one of two mid-sized pipes in the Cobbit Collection of our new, churchwarden style pipes. It has an acorn-shaped or egg-shapped bowl that's not only pleasing to behold, but pleasing when held in the palm of your hand. Like all pipes in the Cobbit Collection, the bowl has a dark stain added to the coating, a genuine, hardwood insert in the bottom, and an Italian vulcanite bit. For size comparison, the cob bowl on the Shire is roughly the size of the bowl on the popular "Diplomat" pipe.

Approximate Dimensions

Length:   7.5 in / 190.5 mm

Bowl Height:   1.875 in / 47.625 mm

Chamber Diameter:   .75 in/19.05 mm

Chamber Depth:   1.25 in/31.75 mm

A Dane Egg by any other name?
This pipe is a Great Dane Egg with a Church Warden stem and a heftier price tag. Nothing against Aristicob, just a marketing ploy by MM. They "discontinued a loved line, the Dane "Eggs" and then rehatched them as "The Shire" pipe. Exactly the same pipe just with a CW stem on it. I have compared them side by side. No difference.

I am enjoying my first bowl of St. Bruno ready rubbed in this pipe. It handles this high quality aromatic beautifully. Very pleased!

I like my Shire now as much as my Dwarf
This pipe smokes as nicely as my Dwarf. It holds a bit more tobacco and the walls a bit thicker. It feels better in the hand, but it needs something to rest in or lean on. I'm amazed at these pipes and I like the length. It's a pleasure to smoke.
