New Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe
MARK TWAIN® (Polished) Dublin Style Hannibal Collection
Choice Of Bent Or Straight Stem / Black Or Amber Bit

This is one of the most anticipated new corn cob pipe shapes to come along in years.  The new Mark Twain® Dublin-style pipe is a tip of the hat to Mr. Samuel Clemens, who was a famous story teller, author and smoker.  Sam not only smoked cobs from the Missouri Meerschaum Pipe Company, but some even credit him with suggesting the name "Missouri Meerschaum".  That may be a tall tale, but what is a fact is this new pipe has done him proud. It’s large bowl is not the largest in our inventory, but it’s about the size of a traditional billiard briar, and it’s substantially larger than the Legend. The large bowl features a genuine hardwood bottom to prevent premature burn-through!

Choose either Straight or Bent and is shipped with a single Medico filter.  If you want more filters, be sure to add them to your order, and if not, the pipe smokes great without the filter.

Note: Mark Twain® is a registered trademark of Cigars International, Inc and is used with permission.

"The Mark Twain Corn Cob Pipe is a NEW design featuring a Dublin style bowl with a genuine, hardwood insert in the bottom.  It is an addition to our series of large, premium pipes.  As such, it holds enough tobacco for a smoke long enough to take the cares of the day away.  This pipe is part of our new Hannibal Collection, which also includes our new Huck Finn Corn Cob Pipe and Tom Sawyer Corn Cob Pipe." ~Missouri Meerschaum

Fathoms Of Pleasure
"Mark Twain" came from the terms used in measuring the depth of the rivers back in the day. "Twain" meant two, as in two fathoms, or 12 feet..nice and deep water for a riverboat captain. This pipe is nice and deep, also....and, thick...the thickest of the five cob styles I have now. And, while it has plenty of capacity, it's not heavy. And, the thick wall makes for easy handling during a smoke. The thing I like most, however, is how the inverted pyramid shape just conforms so nicely to a loosely clenched hand. Try it. The pipe just wants to naturally slip into that "funnel" that your hand forms, as you begin to close your fingers into a ball. This is just a great "conversation" pipe....big and bold, but without the ostentation of some giant briar thing. I only have cobs in my rotation now....8 of them, and happy with all of them. It's impossible for me to attach a "best" label to one. Like the others, this one smoked as easily from the first puff, as my original Diplomat Apple from four years ago. It's just all a matter of the style you want, and wish to convey. Tat being said, there's strength and depth in the Mark Twain....at least two fathom's worth, IMO. Thanks, Scott.

Will quickly become your favorite.
This pipe is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it is also ergonomic. The pipe fits so well in the hand that I find myself holding it, even when I am not smoking. This is easily my favorite cob and I have every mm pipe available. I am about to purchase 4 more. The Twain is very thick walled and has a very cool smoke. This pipe will quickly become your favorite!

Cob convert
I started smoking pipes with a Chinese corn cob, then it evolved into expensive briars and meerschaums. However, I always would go back to my MMs. Now, after a year hiatus from pipe smoking, I bought this beauty. I think I'm even more in love with pipe smoking than when I started the first time. I will never buy another briar, from now on I will only purchase MMs from Scott here on Aristocob. I just ordered some more cobs, and I can't wait. Nothing compares to the cool, slightly sweet smoke that comes from these pieces of American history. My Mark Twain smokes heavenly and I really enjoy the thicker walls on it which prevents it from getting too hot. I've smoked it non-stop since I got it, and its already darkening which is really awesome. Thanks Scott! :D

My new favorite
Not a lot has been written about this shape out there and I bought it on a whim, but I have to say that this is now my new favorite pipe (with the possible exception of the Freehand). I thought it would be useful for me to describe the pipe a bit for others who might be interested. The shape is essentially the bottom two inches of a Freehand; so much so, I'm going to guess that these are made from rejected Freehand cobs, uncharred. The shank is not printed with that weird cob pattern that appears on other pipes. I love this, it's just natural, however it is varnished all the way to the ferrule, which is not the case on my cobs with the print. Probably the best thing about this pipe is that the shank meets the bowl RIGHT AT THE BOTTOM. For my Freehand and my Legend, I had to build up some mud below the stem inside the bowl. This goes right down, in fact it cuts INTO the hardwood plug in a nice groove. Clearly some care was put into this build. Also, the shank sticks out at a small angle to the bowl, this allows the pipe to rest flat when using a bent stem (I am using a Walker Briar Works Churchwarden stem). The smoke is what you'd expect from a MM Cob, cool and smooth. I got about 20 minutes from a 3/4 bowl outside. I'd guess a full bowl inside is good for 30-40 minutes.
