The Missouri Meerschaum Company listened to their customers who wanted the classic style of the famous MacArthur pipe, but in a size that's a bit more practical and with the ability to use a filter. This version of the “General” features a HUGE smooth polished bowl and a bent filtered stem and bit. The large bowl features a genuine hardwood bottom to prevent premature burn-through!

The filtered stem of your new General pipe comes ready to go with only one Medico filter, so you might consider adding a pack or two of our inexpensive filters to your order.

Sometimes I just want to relax and enjoy a nice long smoke. In the evening when you've got plenty of time and just want to relax the General is the perfect pipe. Lets face it the MacARTHUR has some historical appeal but it's just too big to be realistic and the Patriot/similar pipes are too small for a long smoke. The General is the perfect compromise. It has a large bowl for a nice long smoke but you don't have to hold it with both hands (maybe a slight exaggeration about the MacARTHUR but you get the point). As with all Missouri Meerschaum pipes the General smokes nice and cool and feels great in the hand. I like the fancier bit and the hardwood plug to prevent burn through. I love this pipe and you will too. The best part is the price, you'd have to spend quite a bit of coin to get a briar pipe that smokes this well.

This is by far my favorite corn cob pipe. It is more substantial than the Gentleman, which is my second favorite. The stem is stronger and wider than the Gentleman, with more airflow which improves the smoke slightly and allows a pipe cleaner to easily pass through it. The bowl is the perfect size to allow a regular pipe lighter to even light to the very bottom. I mostly like having all that extra room in the bowel so I don't feel like I have to cram tobacco all the way to the very top in order to get a nice long smoke. It helps a lot when your driving and you don't want to have lots of embers hopping out.
