New Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe
DIPLOMAT KOLONEL ('Neked' Unfinished)
Choice Of Bent Or Straight Stem

This new pipe is destined to become a favorite because it once was!  While it’s large bowl is not the largest in our inventory, it’s about the size of a traditional billiard briar, and it’s substantially larger than the Legend.  This pipe is just one step down for the General, hence it's honorary rank of "Kolonel".  The large bowl features a genuine hardwood bottom to prevent premature burn-through!

The filtered stem of your new Kolonel pipe comes ready to go with only one Medico filter, so you might consider adding a pack or two of our inexpensive filters to your order.

A Real Sweetie of a Smoke
I own a slew of pipes, with about a dozen cobs. The Colonel, is a favorite. The unfinished cob allows me to periodically rub beeswax on the outside of the bowl and shank when the pipe is smoked, giving a slight amber hue, and delicate taste of honey. I also shave a block of beeswax with a pocketknife and cover the bowl then light the pipe. The smell of candle is promenent, and once burned away, honey flavor is present and very nice. Too much beeswax can clog things up, so work out easy to find your particular sweet spot. I modify my cobs in this shank size with 5/16ths twist drill bit set in a hand-held T-handle. Out goes the filter as I like unfiltered. Then, twist two times and back out a quarter turn. Keep working that way until you see the drill bit enter the bowl, then tap out from the shank tenon end, the shavings of birch. Then I rub pencil graphite onto the male tenon of the stem and place it back into the shank. When you smoke (SOFTLY!), more air will pass through the opened draft orifice. Beeswax when lit, will spread and coat the bowl interior. It will run to the bottom (heel) as you smoke (softly). Ash plus beeswax, fills and plugs any void there might be at the bowl heel. Once broken-in, a very soft, cool smoking pipe. In my opinion, the taste of corn cob is superior to most materials pipes are made of. Inexpensive and definitely NOT cheap in price or quality. Every one of my cobs, are "old friends" that I rely on. I have one neked pony express, that has turned brown/black through the bowl and shank, and no matter what pipe tobacco is smoked (usually a Burley) it tastes like Cavenish and Latakia. Maybe the dottle is flue curing in the shank? Delicious taste that soothes and gives a nice quiet smoke. PS: I started smoking in 1965. Gone through many pipes. Cobs are always in the rotation lineup as the first string. Aristocob is modestly priced and delivered quickly. Packaging from Aristocob is better than any pipe retailer. Never had any issues from pipes purchased from Aristocob. Being retired, I smoke pipes all day long.

Awesome products and incredible service!
Scott and Jandy are awesome folks and have handled numerous orders from me (yeah, I'm a dedicated Aristocob fan). Over the past few months I've ordered numerous cobs from them and they are absolutely wonderful folks to deal with. And the pipes are incredibly wonderful to smoke. Cool, light, very portable and cheap enough to have several and not worry about losing or breaking them. I've smoked pipes for half a century and only recently converted to cobs. Briars are great, but if you've never smoked a cob you're in for a very refreshing change!! Try one and discover a very cool and economical alternative to briars. The Diplomat Kolonel (neked) is my favorite. Its size is perfect, not too large or too small, and the unfinished surface is the coolest of all the cobs I've tried. Thanks again to Scott and Jandy for all your help!!!
